Are you curious about the journey of your clothes – from production to disposal?
Do you want to understand the environmental and social impacts of the textile industry and explore sustainable alternatives? The Textile Untangled, known as Fresque du Textile is a collaborative learning experience designed to educate, engage and inspire action towards a more responsible fashion system.
The Textile Untangled is an interactive and educational workshop co-created by volunteers of the Green Donut association, based on a collaborative card exercise that reveals the hidden impacts of the textile and fashion industry on the planet and society.
What Is the Textile UnTangled ?
The Textile UnTangled is a participatory workshop and serious game where participants work together to trace the entire life cycle of textiles — from raw material extraction and manufacturing to consumption, care and end-of-life options. By connecting the dots between different stages and impacts, participants learn how individual and collective choices influence global environmental issues such as pollution, water use and waste.
Why Join a Textile Untangled Workshop?
- Learn about social and environmental impacts of fashion and textile production.
- Visualize the complex supply chains of clothing and textile products.
- Discover practical solutions for sustainable consumption, including slow fashion, repair, reuse and circular economy actions.
- Participate in a collaborative experience that encourages discussion, reflection and real-world change.
Who Is It For?
The Textile UnTangled is suitable for a wide audience, including citizens, students, schools, organizations and businesses seeking to better understand their role in the fashion system and make more responsible choices.
How It Works
During the workshop, small groups of participants work with a set of themed cards to map out cause-and-effect links in the textile lifecycle. Under the guidance of a trained facilitator, teams identify environmental and social challenges and brainstorm solutions and actions everyone can take.
This format encourages collective problem-solving, critical thinking and deeper engagement with the realities of textile consumption and production.
